Dog Walking

Dog Walking

Your dog will be exercised freely under our supervision for at least an hour * in a secured area of land leased by Gone To The Dogs. Dogs are walked in a group which enhances socialisation, develops appropriate behaviour and improves obedience. For younger dogs walks consist of lots of play and chasing whilst being exercised at the same time, whilst older dogs can roam around in their own time with less strenuous exercise.

Towels and leads are provided by us.

* pick up and drop off times not included in this time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will my dog be walked off the lead?

Yes, all dogs are walked off the lead as the field is completely fenced and fully secure.

Do you do individual walks?

Unfortunately I do not have the space to do individual walks. I only do group walks as this develops socialisation, improves your dog’s confidence and facilitates good behaviour.

Do I need to provide a lead or towel?

No, both are provided by us. Each dog is towelled down upon its return. Water is provided during the walk.

If it is too hot do you still walk the dogs

Yes, but the time of the walk will usually be earlier so that dogs do not overheat in the midday sun. There are a couple of shaded areas in the field where the dogs can cool off when necessary. Dogs that are already staying with us are cooled down with water before they are taken out in the van, so they do not overheat.

Do you walk dogs even in bad weather?

Yes, dogs are walked in all weathers, unless the owner states otherwise. Coats can be provided for small dogs in wet conditions and obviously they will be dried off as much as possible before they are returned home.

We have been using the services of Emma (Gone To The Dogs) for many years now. Always reliable and reasonable rates and more than that, has become more like a friend over the years.

Emma has been walking Amy every week for the last seven years. Amy absolutely loves her time at Gone To The Dogs, so much so that she is ready and waiting at the door on the days she is picked up.  Emma is brilliant with all the dogs she takes into her care and provides as easy and hassle free service. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Emma and Gone To The Dogs to anyone who is seeking her services. Emma is like an extended part of Amy’s family.

I have been using Gone To The Dogs for years – very happily. Emma is conscientious, reliable, friendly and very easy to work with. She always puts dogs first and they genuinely love her. Archie squeaks with excitement when he sees her! Emma always calls if she is concerned about anything to ensure we all work together to ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of our pets.

Finlay has been going for walks with Gone To The Dogs since he was a small puppy (some 9 years ago) and he loves it. He also stays at Emma’s for his holidays and thoroughly enjoys himself. We can go on our holidays knowing he will be happy and very well looked after.

We have been using Emma (Gone To The Dogs) for a number of years now. She offers very professional dog walking and home boarding services, for which we use her for both. Emma is 100% trustworthy and reliable. We feel totally relaxed knowing that our house keys are in safe hands (always handy if you ever lock yourself out of the house too!) and we always know that our dog, Pixie, has had a good walk during the day whilst we are at work. Emma has always been really good accommodating last minute requests too for anything urgent that has cropped up.

Pixie is very happy with Emma so much so that Emma looks after her for our holidays too and we can relax in the knowledge that she will be very well looked after and cared for whilst we are away. I would highly recommend Emma to anyone who is looking for a dog walker or home boarding. If you are looking for someone who loves dogs and knows how to work with them, Emma’s the one! I am extremely happy to have found such a fabulous person and can relax knowing that my dog is in the best care possible.

We have been clients of Emma and Gone To The Dogs for many years now, since Paxo was a puppy. In the early days it was highly beneficial, not just for care when we weren’t able to be at home, but especially for supporting his behaviour, obedience, development and social awareness with other dogs.

Years on, he eagerly waits by the door as soon as he hears the van. An amazingly friendly and professional service which is simple, supportive and very helpfully flexible when needed. Gone To The Dogs is a service we couldn’t and wouldn’t be without now, plus Paxo wouldn’t let us!!

Highly recommended, as we do to friends and family and happy to be approached directly for any further feedback or questions, with open and honest answers.

Before we even got a dog I wanted to find a good dog walker for when I was at work. Initially the name Gone To The Dogs caught my eye, but as soon as I contacted Emma and met her, I knew I had found the right person for Sootie and for me. It was clear from the start that Emma has a real passion for what she does, and genuinely enjoys sharing her knowledge and advice.  From puppyhood to the now age of 6 Emma has been fantastic and constant support both on daily walks, day care but also overnight stays – sometimes in an emergency – for which I am most grateful. I never have a moment’s concern about Sootie’s time with her – he can’t wait to go out, and I can go away for a weekend guilt-free if it not doggy – friendly. I would wholeheartedly recommend Emma to anyone thinking of using a dog walker.
